SECTION 1 — THE ORIGIN

Creation was never a hobby. It was survival.

One of my earliest memories is my mother showing me how to draw a pig using letters. She couldn’t draw herself, but she showed me anyway. She used to tell me her mother could draw — but my grandmother passed before I was born.

Later, my cousin showed me how to construct a skull and explained that drawing wasn’t magic — it was geometry. Structure. Science.

That’s when art stopped feeling accidental.
It became something you could understand. Something you could build.

We didn’t grow up with money. If I wanted something, I had to create it. Many of the gifts I gave — especially to my wife and my mother — were made by hand. Creation wasn’t decoration. It was how I showed love.

Homes changed. Places shifted. Stability was temporary. Most of what I made in those early years disappeared as my path carved across different ground.

Art was the only thing I could carry with me.

That impermanence shaped me.
It’s why I try to build work that lasts.

SECTION 2 — THE FRACTURE

I grew up with a quiet heaviness I didn’t understand. There were moments I would catch myself smiling and realize I hadn’t felt that lightness in a long time.

Art became the language for what I couldn’t say out loud.

I was often a loner. The few people I stayed close to were usually navigating their own struggles. We moved. We adapted. We endured.

Later, paralysis from transverse myelitis reshaped my body and my direction. I didn’t consciously decide to use art as therapy — I just kept creating because it was the only thing that steadied me.

Over time, I realized something:

My strongest work comes from the tension between pain and hope.

Darkness — but illuminated from within.

That philosophy became the signature:

Enlightened Darkness™

Not despair.
Not chaos.
But light forged inside shadow.

SECTION 3 — THE MARK

My identity was built on duality.

Light and shadow.
Heaven and exile.
Structure and fracture.

The mark presents a mirrored figure — angel above, devil below — divided by a single axis. The halo is broken. Not fallen. Not removed. Broken.

Because perfection was never the point.

The symbol does not represent good versus evil.

It represents awareness.

Both sides exist.
Both sides shape the self.

This emblem appears across select garments as a wearable reminder that identity is not one-sided.

SECTION 4 — THE STRUCTURE

I’ve always wanted to help the earth and the people living on it.

That’s why My Dark Friend™ is structured with sustainable practices and intentional materials.

If art is architecture, responsibility is foundation.

Too much of what I created early on was lost.

Now, I build to endure.

SECTION 5 — COMMISSIONS

Some pieces are meant to find their owner.
Others are meant to be built with them.

If the philosophy resonates,
if Enlightened Darkness™ feels familiar,
original work can be created in dialogue.

Each commission is intentional.
Structured. Enduring.
